The Corvil Analytics community has never been more active! Every week we hear of more clients expanding their organization’s use of Corvil, their teams taking our learning courses, reading articles in the knowledge base and reporting that Corvil is making a significant impact on their business goals.

To ensure our clients are enabled to maximize the value they can get from Corvil, we’re continuing to listen, engage, invest and innovate as a product team.

Our latest major release, Corvil Analytics 10.1, enhances the value Corvil provides in specific areas where we are seeing a high level of client interest and success:

Corvil Analytics 10.1 Enhancements

Corvil Analytics 10.1 Enhancements

Network Observability

Problem

Organizations are investing in centralized platforms for observability, but experience varying and sometimes sub-optimal levels of support, integration and automation from their tools, especially when it comes to network visibility.

Solution

Corvil Analytics can now programmatically feed upstream platforms with expanded and enhanced TCP analytics. New metrics and flow fields can be retrieved via the Flow Index API, which now makes data available in near real-time. In addition, Analytics Streams have been enhanced to support packet and flow visibility, with many new network fields. You can now also stream full packet contents or packet headers.

UX / Ease of Use

Problem

Teams are too busy to become experts on every tool & need to be able to quickly get key workflows completed so they can resolve time-sensitive incidents.

Solution

Accelerated investigation and forensics workflows are now possible, that are more flexible and intuitive. This is achieved through the addition of 3 major enhancements including the ability to add/remove charts for statistics with a single click, incremental data loading in charts and at-a-glance visibility into capture data availability.

Ethernet CRC Error Analytics

Problem

CRC errors can indicate failing optics, bad network interfaces, unreliable links, or could arise from low-level network techniques to optimise for low latency. Most monitoring tools drop invalid frames & only report counts of CRC errors.

Solution

Trade surveillance analytics (detection of corrupt frames & traffic violating exchange rules) are now possible thanks to new analytics on frames with invalid checksums (CRC errors), enabling you to see where they are coming from, live and retrospectively. Coupled with Anomaly Detection, this provides a new and crucial tool to detect problems early.

Enhanced Data Acquisition

Problem

Clients need support for more advanced aggregation tapping configurations and timestamping as switch vendor products continue to get enhanced and networks become more complex.

Solution

Based on our experiences with many real-world deployments, Corvil’s data acquisition has been made more scalable, has extended vendor support & easier configuration, including for Arista & IXIA devices. Nanosecond-accurate latency is now available, in cases where arriving packets have identical timestamps.
